House Update!

Oh I am on a roll with posting so I may as well keep the ball rolling with a house update (which is long overdue!).   In October we hosted a shower for friends of ours that are expecting a baby any day now so it made for a great "deadline" for construction.  At the 11th hour we decided that since we endured nearly 9 months of planning and 6 months of construction we needed to give the front of the house a face lift to match the back.  We have the "go" on a Thursday afternoon, and by the following Friday we had a new garage, stucco on the new house and ouila!  Meet the new Orcutt home!

Yes, that is a terracotta orange front door and garage door.  Believe it or not it now matches perfectly with the rusted steel roof, which has continued to to change color in the winter months.

Here is a quick shot of the new master bathroom.  We are loving all the storage in the new vanity and the glass shower!  We take turns squeegeeing - no water marks allowed!

Apparently we just can get enough of these dark shades of orange.  It is a slow moving process picking new decor - art, etc will come in good time.  But for now we are getting used to a king bed!  It is huge!

Most of the kitchen has remained the same, other than the new floors and our barn-door on the far wall.

New closet!  This is the messiest it has been - right now it's much more organized, I promise :)  Kelley would be so disappointed

New back patio!  The spiral staircase heads to the roof where we enjoy downtown and mountain views.

We are SO thankful to live in what we now call a "grown-up house."  Neighbors stop us when they drive by just to say "great job!"  It feels so nice to not have one of the least attractive houses on the street anymore :)  Something we will be able to enjoy for years to come!
