A Shower for Baby Girl

As we jump right into the month of September most of the country is getting excited to break out the fall clothes, celebrate the school year and start picking out Halloween costumes.  I wish I could say we were unpacking the sweaters but unfortunately we Phoenicians have to wait until October (if we're lucky!).  While fall is always my absolute favorite time of year it means a whole lot more this year than it ever does.  Before we know it our sweet baby doll will be here and we couldn't be more excited to meet her.

This weekend the Grammy's hosted a fabulous baby shower full of lots of great family & friends.  Mike's mom's house was beautiful!  She made stunning flower arrangements and delicious food - even the punch bowl was decorated.  Amelie was my special helper.  She handed me all the gifts, helped open them and added her expert commentary regarding which gifts and books were the best.  She was the star of the party, no doubt!

Katie had a fun idea to have everyone decorate fabric (we used plain white baby cloth diapers) to be used as quilt pieces for a blanket for the baby.  One of my oh-so-talented ELC buddies, Jenni, will be making the quilt - I can't wait to see how it looks!

Here are a few snapshots of the party.  My only regret was that I didn't take many pictures and not a single one with either of the Grammys!
The a-dor-able invites chosen by Mom and Bopper.  The colors and beachy theme match the nursery.  So cute.

The party favors were a cute pink nail polish (the color name was "tickled!") wrapped in a chevron pattern to match the nursery colors/patterns.  Here is a pic of the lovely Miss Amelie and a few of the creative additions to our quilt.  So fun!

A photo of the bump at 32.5 weeks!  She is getting bigger and bigger every day!  The cupcakes were so yummy and look how cute the punch bowl was- such a great idea to put a ring of floating fruit in the bowl.
Katie and family friend Christine did a fabulous job on all of the flower arrangements- so pretty!
A very special thank you to so many wonderful ladies for making the day so memorable. We cannot wait for everyone to meet the little one in a handful of weeks!
