House Update!

Wow!  It has been a while since I updated - things have been moving right along and I am loving it!  My first shout out goes to our awesome General Contractor, Jim, from Badger Construction.  He has kept this puppy ahead of schedule, which is a huge feat in Arizona...especially in the summer months.  This week it has been between 109 - 115 degrees.  It's a scorcher!

We were able to scoot away to glorious Maui for a week vacation (see previous post) and when we returned this was the sight to see!  The pre-slab fill was laid, rough plumbing was done, and the concrete was ready to be poured! This was the first week of June.

Murphy and Lincoln thought that the Caterpillar and dirt piles were a special delivery for them. I couldn't believe how dirty they were and they loved every second of it!
We passed inspection and the slab was poured late in the first week ofJune! It was an exciting day to see how BIG the addition actually is.

They immediately started framing, and I couldn't believe how quickly the walls were up and ready to roll. They started on a Wednesday and worked through the weekend. We went out of town, came back Sunday and had a standing house! These are a couple of early framing shots.

And this is what it looked like this morning!  An actions shot of them prepping for the stucco!  Check out that awesome patio.  From the top you can see downtown Phoenix and awesome mountain views.

Looking south - a close-up of the patio.  Our yard is a total disaster zone, which is the only pain through this whole thing.  I have a feeling it will be worth it.
Next on the agenda will be an inspection and then we start with drywall, finish the stucco & roof and all that's left will be installation of the fixtures!!  Hopefully we can have this puppy wrapped up by the end of the month!!
